LeaderSHAPE 2008

November 14, 2008
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM lunch included

 Theme:  Releasing Your Church’s Potential”

If your church had to close her doors tomorrow, would anyone in the community notice?   All church leaders would like to see their congregations grow and make a difference in their communities and the world. The bad news is some churches do not understand and/or address important issues which hinder their mission.  The good news is that any church can learn to address hindrances to spiritual and numerical growth.  Any church can have a transformational impact upon its community.  “Releasing Your Church’s Potential” will explain transformational characteristics of strong, growing churches and tell how to implement strategies to develop these characteristics.

Our speaker for this seminar will be Don Hamilton, Senior Minister at Capital Area Christian Church, Mechanicsburg, PA.  He is a graduate of Johnson Bible College and has earned an MA in Church Growth from Cincinnati Bible Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Northwest Graduate School of the Ministry in Seattle.

Don has served as the Senior Minister of a healthy, fun church family for 26 years.  Capital Area Christian Church was a plant of Christian Outreach Associates in 1977.  The congregation of 550 is an externally focused church utilizing their 53 acre campus as a community center and community park.  “Our desire is Christ-filled transformation through total community involvement and an externally focused campus.”

Don’s first love in ministry is the local church. “I love churches of any size.  I believe this is where the action is.  It’s the front line of advancement for the Kingdom of God.  I agree with Bill Hybels who states that the local church is the hope of the world.”

“I’m as passionate about ministry as ever and I see a bright future for Christian Churches in the northeast and mid-Atlantic region.  We’re seeing healthy, growing churches from Maine to Virginia.  Many of these are turn-around churches and many are new plants.  The ball is finally rolling in our region and it’s an exciting time to lead ministry in the northeast.  I look forward to leading my small part in a great local church and beyond for many years to come.”

Cost for this event:  $40.00 per person ($50.00 after November 1st)
