A Message from ECC President, Brett Andrews

Moving Mountains

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:22-24)

Got any mountains that need moving?

Financial mountains? New ministry mountains? Leadership mountains? Volunteer mountains? Marriage mountains? “Stuck-in-old-ways” mountains? Community impact mountains? Church health mountains?

Serving in a church in the East, you know we minister in a mountain-rich environment.  The 2008 ECC is designed with you and your church’s mountains in view.

Will God move our mountains?  Only if we are people of prayer.  Friday night, Dick Alexander, minister of Lifespring Christian church in Cincinnati, returns to our convention to challenge us to seek God first in prayer.

To move mountains, we need to see them (that’s vision) and believe they can move (that’s passion).  Saturday, church planter, author, one-time “America’s Most Wanted” feature, and minister with ForeFront Christian church in Virginia Beach, Vince Antonnuci, will deepen our passion and vision.

Mountain moving churches are led by people of character.  Will we endure? Will we be faithful to the end?  Will we honor God in all we do?  Sunday, Dick Alexander will close out our convention challenging us to always be people of character.

Got Teens?

Dan “Baby Got Book” Smith is our featured teen speaker.  Dan’s got a great passion for Jesus and more than his fair share of creativity (I think he got my share).

Kevin “Too Tall” Brungard, known to many for his years of leadership with the PCTC, will be leading worship.

Got Kids?

Lynnette Chambers and Cindy O’Conner have put together a children’s convention that your kids will talk about for years to come.  Like Indiana Jones?  Imagine walking in as Indiana Jones theme music plays with Indian Jones images and sets all around, teachers enthusiastic about sharing with your children about the story of that Old Testament hero, Indiana Joe.

Worship?

Something powerful happens when God’s people gather to sing and pray.

John Sarno, our worship chairperson, knows great worship honors God and prepares God’s people to move God’s mountains.  John’s committed to leading us in great worship.

Whatever mountains you face, make your reservations today and bring them with you to Hershey, November 14-16!
